HSFL HALL OF FAME



We honor these young men for their amazing accomplishments on and off the field. 

 They are truly Men of Character! 

Hall Of Fame Class of 2014

William Clement 

New Mexico State

William was an excellent student and player. He received numerous accolades on the field, in the classroom and received his scholarship to play football at New Mexico State.

 When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:

 “The HSFL experience provided me with coaches who taught us what it meant to be a leader on and off the field. The skills I learned in the HSFL helped me to have the opportunity to play D1 football.”

 

Bradley Cunningham

Tyler Junior College

Bradley played LB at Westside where he ended his senior year with 121 Tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 5 sacks and 2 interceptions. He was 1st team all-district, Defensive MVP and accepted his offer to play at Tyler Junior College.

  When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:

  “My experience in the HSFL created an entirely new football player. I had a whole new mindset about the game which had changed in such a great positive way. I learned what would earn me my scholarship is being a man of character, building my football IQ, out working anyone who stepped on the gridiron and the most important thing, which was stay close to God having faith and not putting trust in man.”

 

Devante Dixon

Mary Hardin Baylor

Devante was a two year starter and team captain. He was an excellent student and leader and he will be playing for Mary Hardin Baylor, the #2 ranked team in the country in its division.

  When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:

  “What most people don’t understand is that, this is more than just a football league.  Playing in the league has taught me so much, from overcoming adversity to just simply becoming a better man. It has made me a very good teammate, classmate, son and brother. Thank You HSFL!”

 

Kourtlin Flournoy

Benedictine

Kourtlin was a dominating defensive player at Northland while being an excellent student and serving his community as a role model for young men. He was a consistent Tapps post season award winner and will be playing at Benedictine College in Kansas

  When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:

  “The HSFL gave me the opportunity to view several college locker rooms and facilities at a young age. I was also able to learn respect for the individual young or old, and not to give up on any dreams you have. I was able to build friendship with people from all over Houston and beyond. To the youngest here today keep up the hard work not just on the field, but also in the classroom and at home.”

 

Armanti and D’Onta Foreman

The University of Texas

The Foreman twins were part of one of the most powerful offenses in the state. Both players played both ways and were usually the two best players on the field. This tandem was responsible for more than 50% of their team’s offensive production and combined for more than 42 touchdowns. Both players were unanimous all-state selections and Armanti was the All Greater Houston Offensive Player of the Year! They will continue to be a tandem as they have both signed to play at the University of Texas.

  When asked what the HSFL experience did for them, D’Onta replied:

  “While playing in the HSFL, I learned discipline, respect for others, and how to communicate with my teammates.  My coach was one that helped me open up to be a man.  Mistakes are easy to make, but think first because there are choices in life; you just have the make the right one.”

  

Christopher Zook

The United States Military Academy at West Point (Army)

Chris was a 4 year varsity starter and played wide receiver, running back, quarterback and safety. During his career he had more than 3700 yards of offense and 41 TD’s. His senior year he moved to the defensive side of the ball where he had 119 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 2 interceptions, as well as 5 TD’s as a receiver while averaging 33 yards per catch. He was a 3 time all state athlete and Team Captain. Chris was a Houston Chronicle player of the week and named to the Chronicle top 100 players in Houston. He has signed to play football for the United States Military Academy at West Point.

 When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:

 The HSFL helped me develop physically and rise up to the level of competition. There are many great athletes that I played with which really helped me increase my level of play and prepare me for Varsity football. Go Army, Beat Navy!!

 

Hall Of Fame Class of 2013

 

 

Gator Adams

 Claremont McKenna College  

 Gator Adams attended Strake Jesuit High School where he was an active leader on and off the field. His senior at Strake he was the president of the business and Future Investors Club, treasurer for The Hispanic Student Union, senior representative for the Key club, and the managing editor for the school newspaper. His senior year he was the captain for the wrestling team, and on the leadership council for the football team. His senior year at strong safety he had 46 solo tackles, and 5 sacks. He was honorable mention in district 19-5A, and was selected to play in the GHFCA Bowl, and the Houston Blue Chip Senior Bowl. He will be playing football at Claremont Mckenna College, as a weak side linebacker

 

 

Renderick Childs Jr.

 Oklahoma State  

Renderick is a leader in the school, locker room, and on the football field.   He is an extremely good student whose grades are opening doors at the college level. He was selected second team all-district running back in 2010 after rushing for 1,009 yards and 17 touchdowns in ten games. As a junior he was elected first team all-district after finishing the season as the district 17- 5A rushing leader with 1,453 yards and 12 touchdowns. He squats 405 pounds, bench presses 300, and power cleans 290 pounds. He was clocked at a 4.28 in the 40 and has signed to play at Oklahoma State.

When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied: 

“Going through the HSFL in my 8th grade year was a life changing experience. It changed the way I presented myself and the way I viewed others. The HSFL gave me the mental tools to use both on and off the football field. Being on the team taught me more than just how to play football it also taught me how to work together as a team and to always give 150%”

  

 Tavares Garner 

Texas A&M  

Tavares is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and carries a 3.0 G.P.A. He is one of the top rated cornerbacks in the country and last year helped lead his team to a birth in the state championship game. He serves as a mentor to young athletes and has scholarship offers from Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma St, Mississippi and Texas Tech. He has signed to play at Texas A&M. 

When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied: 

“Being a part of the HSFL has been a huge character building source for me. The HSFL allowed me to interact with athletes outside of my community and develop my skills to get me ready for High School.”

  

 

Robert Martin

 Augustana College, Illinois 

Robert Martin was a three year letterman in Football at Strake Jesuit where he was a leading tackler. Robert maintained a 3.5 GPA, while playing football and being very involved in campus and community activities. Robert has signed to play football at Augustana College in Illinois.

 When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:

 “The HSFL experience provided me with coaches who did a great job of disciplining us which improved my overall character and respect for others.”

 

 

Damitri Morris 

 Mary Hardin Baylor  

During his junior year at St. Pius X, Damitri caught 52 passes for 930 yards and seven touchdowns. He was a first team all district selection and was an honorable mention all-state selection. He now enters his senior year as one the top receivers in the state. Damitri has signed to play at Mary Hardin Baylor. 

When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied: 

“By playing in the HSFL I got the chance to play with the best of the best in the area. I played under some great coaches and got one of the best football experiences ever. This was also an experience that showed me how to get along with people that I have never met before, which is something that will help me in the real world.”

 

Bryce Peters

Colorado State

 Bryce Peters joined the Cy-Falls varsity football team as a freshman in week 6 of the season. He will be a three year starter and will break several Cy-falls career rushing records before he moves on to the collegiate level. In his breakout junior season Bryce ran for 1300 yards and 11 touchdowns averaging 8 yds per carry. Last season, Bryce helped lead the Eagles to a 10-2 record on his way to 1st team all-district honors. Bryce has signed to play at Colorado State. 

When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied: 

“The HSFL helped my development as a player and person of character by teaching perseverance and dedication in the midst of adversity. The HSFL experience is one that I will never forget. Just saying thank you is not enough.”

 

Chris Roberts

Hendrix College 

 Chris was a two time letterman at Left Tackle. He overcame two serious injuries in his career and will continue his playing days at Hendrix College in Arkansas, one of the finest academic schools in the South.

When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:

“The HSFL taught me that no matter how gloomy things may look when injured, you can always fight and come back.”

 

Seth Scott 

 U.S. Air Force Academy 

Seth is an honor roll student who carries a 3.9 GPA. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and actively serves his church and community. In 2010 and 2011 he led his team in sacks on his way to honorable mention all-district as a sophomore and 2nd team all-district in 2011. He has signed to play at the U.S. Air Force Academy. 

When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied: 

“My HSFL experience was great. It not only taught me how to play the game of football better, it also taught me how to be a better man. It was a wonderful experience and it really got me ready for high school football.”

 

 Brian Womac

 Rice  

Brian was among a group of three freshmen that were moved up to varsity for the playoffs. They were the first freshmen to play varsity in more than 20+ years at Memorial HS. In his Junior year he was one of the team leaders in tackles and sacks. He maintains a very strong GPA and his combination of athletic talents and academics are opening doors for him at the college level. Brian has signed to play at Rice.

When asked what the HSFL experience did for him, he replied:  

"The HSFL gave me the opportunity to not only maintain my skills in what would usually have been a football free spring between my 8th and 9th grade year, but also honed them. I worked with a coaching staff that was top notch and learned many things along the way. All of the things that I had learned about life, both on and off of the field, I carry with me to this day.”
